Yesterday, it was announced that 3B Chris Sabo was the fans choice for induction into the Reds Hall of Fame as a member of the 2010 class, joining pitchers Pedro Borbon and Tony Mullane. Sabo was present for the announcement yesterday at the Reds Hall of Fame Palace of the Fans theater.
Quotes from 3B Chris Sabo at yesterday’s press conference:
“Obviously, it’s a great honor. I got voted by the fans, who always liked me. I could look in the mirror and say I did the best I could. I tried hard, and I’m just glad to have played on some great teams with great teammates.”
“People ask me all the time what was my greatest moment. My biggest thrill, and it still is, is my first big league game in 1988. Pete Rose let me start Opening Day my rookie year, and to me I had reached a level you dream about when you’re a little boy. That’s still the biggest thrill I ever had in my life.”
