FOX Sports Ohio’s Redsfest, benefiting the Reds Community Fund, returns on December 4-5, 2009 at the Duke Energy Convention Center (Cincinnati’s downtown convention center). There are less than two months before the doors open to Redsfest and we need to recruit over 300 volunteers to help make the event a success!
Friday, December 4 3pm-7pm
Friday, December 4 6:30pm-11pm
Saturday, December 5 10am-2:30pm
Saturday, December 5 2pm-7pm
If you’re interested in volunteering, we need to know which of the above shifts you can commit to fully. You may work up to all four shifts, but it’s crucial that you’re able to commit to the entire shift(s) for which you sign up. We also need to know your shirt size and mailing address. All volunteers who work will receive a $20 stipend per day, a volunteer t-shirt and two Field Box tickets to a 2010 Reds game (based on availability; excluding Opening Day and other Premium Series. Tickets will be mailed out in February 2010). There will be a volunteer training session on the evening of Thursday, December 3 at the Duke Energy Convention Center. All volunteers are REQUIRED to attend this training.
Another part of the Redsfest production is assembling the 20,000 bags we pass out to all fans in attendance. As you can imagine, this is quite an undertaking and we need as many people as possible to help with this enormous task. You may bring anybody you’d like to help and there is no dress code. This is an unpaid duty, but it does count if you need community service hours and is also a great way to stand out and be noticed. It will be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center lobby and you may come whenever you’d like for as long as you’d like. Even an hour here and there is a HUGE help. If you’re interested in bag stuffing, let us know what day(s) and approximate time(s) you’re available.
Bag Stuffing Dates/Times:
Monday, November 30 9am-7pm
Tuesday, December 1 9am-7pm
Wednesday, December 2 9am-7pm
Thursday, December 3 9am-9pm
Please pass this along to others who may be interested in volunteering. We take people of all ages (minimum 16 years of age for Friday/Saturday; no age requirements for bag stuffers), it’s a fun way to be involved with the Reds and it’s also wonderful resume building experience for college students.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Kathryn Braun at KBraun@reds.com. Thanks!
