Thanks for the lineup posting Jim. We need to get you to be more vocal in your blog and start posting more goodies on the team. Maybe a guest blogger from the team once in a while. This looks like a good lineup today and I smell a victory in the wind for the Reds.

If you check the archives, that is exactly what I try to do. I just don’t have time every day to post a story. I’m glad you enjoy following the blog.

Finally, a lineup which may produce a win, even though I’d like to see Phillips in the leadoff slot with his power threat, moving Sutton to seventh and Gonzo eighth. I really believe we do not take advantage of Phillips legs on the basepaths. I also love moving Hanigan up to the two hole. Given time, I believe he can learn well to hit behind Phillips on either the hit and run, or the run and hit. Finally, I’m getting excited about this team, but they must remain healthy the rest of the way.

Jim since there isn’t a lot of activity this week can I ask you a question? I noticed that the Reds have no players left at AAA that are on the 40 man roster (non pitching positions) and I also noticed that there is only 1 at AA. How is that affecting Reds management decisions with having so many on the DL and other with nagging injuries (Hanigan, Taveras) does this limit who they can or will call up?

I like todays lineup as well. Phillips is not a good lead off hitter in the sense that he does not take a lot of pitchers and is a free swinger. I think Phillips is ideally a #2 hitter. Sutton isn’t slow and I prefer him up at the top instead of Taveras.
