Sarasota Memories

As the Reds pack up everything in Sarasota for the final time, many memories are becoming unearthed.

This is a cartoon from Cincinnati Post cartoonist Jeff Stahler. He used the cartoon as his credential request for spring training the year that the Reds signed Ken Griffey Jr.

Junior Cartoon on Sarasota Door.JPGThe cartoon/credential request has been on the door of director of media relations Rob Butcher’s office in Sarasota since February 24, 2000, surviving beautifully despite the Florida humidity.

“Today I am packing my office for the transfer to Goodyear (AZ), and unfortunately this cartoon is probably the most memorable item that won’t make the trip,” said Butcher.
