EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Dick Williams
Today I had a chance to speak with Dick Williams, Reds Vice President of Baseball Operations. In his interview, Dick discusses his role with the Reds, the new training facility in Goodyear, Arizona and also clears up some misconceptions about the Reds’ move from Sarasota.
His entire interview:

Also, here are some pictures that will help when following along with the interview.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Cory Melvin
Over the weekend I had a chance to meet up with a good friend of mine, Cory Melvin. Cory is a professional scout with the Milwaukee Brewers based out of Tampa, Florida. His travels brought him through Lexington, Kentucky’s Applebee’s Park, home of the Class A Lexington Legends (Astros). Not only did it give me a chance to catch up with a buddy, but also allowed me to give you a glimpse into the world of scouting. In his interview (see below), Cory discusses the difference between amateur and professional scouting, what he looks for when evaluating a player and life on the road.
His entire interview:

Here are some pictures from Applebee’s Park.
This was the scene at the ballpark when we arrived. The start of the game was delayed about an hour due to heavy rain.
As you can tell, the scout seats are among the best in the house.
