Cubs honor Hal McCoy
On the field this afternoon the Cubs honored longtime Dayton Daily News beat writer Hal McCoy, who following the season is retiring after 37 years of covering the Reds.
Cubs Director of Media Relations Peter Chase, left, presented Hal with the number 37 from the Wrigley Field scoreboard. They also gave McCoy wine and a box of cigars. Also pictured are Cubs Vice President and GM Jim Hendry, second from left, and former Red and current Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster.
Cubs manager Lou Piniella also posed with Hendry, McCoy and Dempster.

Reds Internal Affairs reaches #12
Thanks to you, the Reds Internal Affairs blog has reached a career-high ranking of #12 (by pageviews) in the MLB Pro Blogs Network for the month of August 2009.
The 11 blogs ranked ahead of Reds Internal Affairs come from representatives of the New York Mets, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, MLB, Houston Astros and Keith Olbermann.
As always, I appreciate your comments and suggestions for subjects you are interested in seeing on the blog.
This ribbon was made for me, part in jest, by a good friend of mine, Nick Monroe of the Milwaukee Bucks. Good stuff.
Thanks again!
