TODAY’S NEWS: Pitchers and catchers report to the City of Sarasota Sports Complex tomorrow morning, when they will undergo physical examinations followed by an afternoon workout…the baseball operations and coaching staffs reported today…position players are scheduled to report Tuesday…among the players checking in today were OF Jay Bruce, RHP Mike Lincoln, 1B Yonder Alonso and OF Willy Taveras.

AND THIS ONE BELONGS TO…: Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman, the voice of the Reds on Radio network, has been named Ohio Sportscaster of the Year for the second straight year and for the 15th time overall…in July 2000 ceremonies at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, Brennaman received the Ford C. Frick Award for his “major contributions to the game of baseball”…he also is a member of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame, the National Radio Hall of Fame and the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame…last month he was selected by the American Sportscasters Association as one of the Top 50 broadcasters of all time…the 2009 season will be Brennaman’s 45th as a broadcaster, his 36th in Cincinnati.
